February Product Rollup: Search Queries, Smart Upload, and More

Welcome back to another edition of our monthly product rollup! This month, we’re excited to bring you enhancements to search with saved search queries, Smart Upload for Egnyte’s Android app, improvements to Microsoft co-editing on Desktop App and Desktop App Core for Mac, and more. Read all about it below.

Platform

Saved Search Queries - Users can now save search queries that are run frequently in the Egnyte Web UI. Saved search queries include all search keywords and associated search filters. For more information, check out the helpdesk article.

Governance

Unusual Access & Suspicious Login Issues - Support “Dismissed” Status - Egnyte Secure & Govern users can now change the issue status to 'Dismiss' for issues associated with Unusual access & Suspicious logins. The 'Dismiss' status allows them to reopen or review an issue later for reconsideration. For more information, check out the helpdesk article.

Mobile

Automatically Sort Photos into Project Folders on the Egnyte Android App - Smart Upload is now available on the Egnyte Android App. Available on Egnyte’s AEC Package, Smart Upload scans device photo libraries to find photos taken at locations associated with a project folder, then uploads those photos to that project folder. For more information, read this helpdesk article.

Desktop

Improvements to Co-editing in Desktop App for Mac v3.14.1 - When users start a new collaboration session or join an existing collaboration session on MS Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, the dedicated application will open directly rather than first to a web browser and then to the dedicated application. For more information, check out the helpdesk article.

Improvements to Co-editing in Desktop App Core for Mac v0.4 - When users start a new collaboration session or join an existing collaboration session on MS Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, the dedicated application will open directly rather than first to a web browser and then to the dedicated application. For more information, check out the helpdesk article.

Context Menu for Partner Integrations in Desktop App Core for Mac v0.4 - Users will now see an additional context menu called “Integrations,” showing available integrations associated with the selected file/folder. For more information, read the helpdesk article.

Migration App

Permission Simulation - Migration Operators can now create a Permission Migration Simulation before migrating permissions. The Permission Simulation should be run after all expected users and groups have already been created on the Egnyte domain and will provide insights into any missing users or groups on Egnyte that might still need to be created before running the Permissions Migration command. For more information, check out the helpdesk article.

Folder Picker Available During Migration Creation - The Migration Operator now has the option to pick a destination folder path through a “folder picker” modal, making it easier to visualize where you should store migrated files. Using the folder picker modal, you can also create a new child folder by appending that folder name to the destination folder path. For more information, check out the helpdesk article.
